Applying For Sri Lankan Police Clearance Certificate Online

Police clearance is required for migration and many of the civil purposes. Now, we can request for the police clearance certificate online conveniently.

Step 1: Go to Sri Lankan Police eServices web page.

URL: https://eservices.police.lk/ClearanceCertificate/home.action

Step 2: Click on ‘Proceed’ under ‘Application’ section.

Step 3: Get the authentication screen.

Step 4: Select ‘Google’ as it’s the easiest way.

Step 5: Select the email ID you want to proceed.

If you are already signed in with an email using your default browser you, you’ll be directly asked to select the email. Otherwise you’ll have to log into the email through the given window.

Step 4: Get the application form.

After signing in successfully, you’ll be redirected to the police eService page with the below UI.

Step 5: Fill the application form correctly

All the text fields with a red * mark must be filled. Double check information before you click on ‘Verify’.

Step 6: Click ‘Verify’ button.

Step 7: Get the additional form data to fill.

Additional text fields will appear under the initial form you filled under step 5.

Images to be ready with: NIC front/Back, Passport bio details page/allowed countries page.

Step 8: Fill extra text fields correctly. Upload required files.

Step 9: Click ‘Submit’.

Step 10: Make the payment.

Step 11: Receive the email confirmation.

Step 12: Your nearest Police station will call you.

Step 13: Go to the nearest Police station.

Take photo copies of your passport, national identity card. Further take the Grama Niladhari certificate as well with you.

Step 14: Police report will be posted to the address you provided.
